FAQ'S

1. How long does treatment take?

Treatment varies from person to person as well as condition to condition. In some cases, you can expect to be treated rather quickly, but, depending on the severity of the illness or injury, treatment may be prolonged. We will make every effort to ensure your treatment is as fast and effective as possible.

We recommend that new patients be prepared to spend 1-2 hours at the office, as testing may be recommended after consultation with the physician. New York Neurology seeks to provide the most thorough medical service to our patients.

2. What hospitals are you affiliated with?

    a. Beth Israel Medical Center
    b. Columbia University Medical Center
    c. Lenox Hill Hospital
    d. The North Shore-LIJ Health System
    e. South Nassau Communities Hospital

3. What can I expect on the first day?

As with any other medical facility, there will be a small amount of paperwork to fill out. We will only ask you for necessary information to expedite the process. Shortly thereafter, we will ask you sit with a member of our staff to begin treatment.

4. How long does each visit take?

We value your time and try to keep visits to under an hour. Generally, the first day is the longest due to the small amount of paperwork and us working with you to get to the source of your problem, if we can help, and the best course of treatment. The rest of the visits will generally be much shorter. The only times your visits may be longer are during our on-site diagnostic tests or if we have to discuss test results with you.

5. When will I start feeling better?

Feeling better depends on the severity of your condition, adherence to the treatment plan, and your natural healing ability, which varies from person to person. We strive to help you feel better as soon as possible.

6. Which insurances do you accept?

We accept most health insurance plans in the New York area and some plans outside of the New York area. Please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions regarding insurance.

7. What is the wait to get an appointment?

We usually try to accommodate new patients within 1 week, however, it may be possible to get an appointment the same day. As far as follow-up visits, we schedule them for the time and day that is most convenient for you as long as that appointment slot is available. However, if it is absolutely necessary to see you within a certain period of time, we will do our best arrange it.
