Meet Dr. Kaplan
Dr. Artem Kaplan is a board certified neurologist treating patients at New York Neurology Associates. He is also the Principal Investigator at NYNA's New York Neurology Institute
Dr. Kaplan earned both his medical degree and a Ph.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He went on to complete a residency in neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York at the Columbia University Medical Center, where he won several awards and co-authored multiple published, peer-reviewed articles. Among these is a ground-breaking research study on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) published in the online edition of the journal Neuron. Dr. Kaplan is also a published expert on chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a progressive neurological disorder characterized by weakness and impaired sensory function of the limbs Dr. Kaplan did a fellowship in clinical electrophysiology-EMG. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center.
Prior to attending Columbia University, Dr. Kaplan completed a year-long preliminary internal medical internship at the University of Chicago, Northshore University HealthSystem.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center attending a resident clinic and performing EMG guided Botox injections for various indications such as dystonia, spasticity, and others.
